So you might dissagree with GW but...

ok, some people might not totally agree with Global Warming, or as some preffer to call it "Climate Change". Either way, its they mean pretty much the same thing. But this post isn't about that.

You might not like all the "Stop Global Warming" and "Go Green" attitudes of the world today but going green doesn't have to be done only to save the Earth (which you might not think needs saving).

A lot of people go green becuase they like money. They like to save money, to invest in things with their money, and really... who doesn't like money? "Going Green" (if you so wish to call it that), can mean you attempting to save money!

Recycling, using those re-useable bags while shopping, and cutting down on your use of electricity and over-all CO2 emissions can be called "Going green" for not the reason most would think. I just wanted to throw this idea out there becuase I know we have some users here that I think could/should hear this.

You can save money without worshiping the earth.

says who we're worshiping the earth? There's no reason to be ashamed of helping the earth just to save money. Thats one of the main reasons people do "go green"

going green. What does that mean? going from one lifestyle to another? A few admit to worshiping the earth... and other times it is just too obvious.

Saving money is just more propaganda to drag you in.

you know you do have a good point, and for some people "going green" does mean changing their entire life-style. But for others (and I belive I'm in this group) it just means being a bit more careful about the choices we make. Like instead of throwing away "trash" some of it can be recycled. Little things like recycling, planting a few trees, and flipping light switches are very small things that aren't life altering. but again. like you mentioned some people totally devote their lives to doing every little thing they can to be "greener".

Doing something small can drag you into the cult

Stop using gasoline, and you still have to pay the extremely high price of energy for the hybrid cars.

I don't drive in Hybrid cars and don't plan on purchasing one. And I really don't think that small things like what I mentioned above can "drag me in to the cult". For some, maybe. Me, doubt it. Why? Well "being/going green" isn't my passion, it's not what I constantly think about, it isn't something I can't live without. I have other intrests and so does everyone else. I would like to think of my blog and "going green" as a side project.
